    MAKE YOUR DESIGN MORE ALIVE

Houseplants are a fundamental feature of your interior designs - we believe they can be used to decorate your home in much the same way that wallpaper and curtains are.

Whether you spend half your life in the outdoors and want to make your house reflect your passions, or you’re more of a homebird wanting to bring nature into you, houseplants in your living room can be used to create your own urban jungle. Wow your friends by turning your favourite room into a tropical retreat.

Adding houseplants to your living room is all about combining your creativity with your plant parenting ability. Newbies and veteran plant caregivers can find plenty of options to suit their design ambitions.

    KENTIA THE PALM

Why not add some colour with a hanging, woven or clay pot. The pots and plants you choose can help tie a room together. One of our favourite plants is the Kentia palm. Boasting luscious, tropical leaves, he’ll become a staple of your design ambitions. Place him against a white wall or next to any neutral coloured furniture and he’s guaranteed to take over the room.

    BONNIE THE SPIDER PLANT

If space is limited, take Bonnie the spider plant to new heights by settling her into a hanging plant pot to dangle from a shelf or the ceiling of your living room.

    DRAKE THE CORN PLANT

If your living room doesn’t get much natural light, Drake the Corn plant and Zoe the ZZ plant are both great options. They’ll both be happy in a dark corner and can tolerate irregular watering. These guys really aren’t ones to fuss.

    EDDIE THE POTHOS

We’ve always admired Eddie the pothos for his beautiful trailing foliage; place him on a high bookshelf and watch his foliage grow, adding a sense of movement and height to the room. This golden pothos makes for a terrific living room plant as he’ll keep growing in either sun or shade.

    FAQs

Which types of plants are good for living rooms?

Picking the best houseplants will all depend on how much natural light your living room gets.

For a bright sunny living room, Fiona the fiddle leaf fig and Sasha the giant white bird of paradise both love a sunny room full of bright light. For a pet safe houseplant option, take a look at Bonnie the spider plant. She’ll be happiest in the bright sun but nothing too direct that can burn the tips of her leaves.
