ABOUT OUR SEDUM TETRACTINUM
Hiya! I’m Seddie. I’m the kind of plant that can take full sun so if there’s a hot part of your home that needs decorating, I’m your guy. I’m a carefree succulent that will look good with very little upkeep. In the spring and summer you may notice my terrific stems start to vine. Feel free to snip off my luscious vines and make another one of me to give to a friend or keep for yourself.
I’m native to high mountains in China where I receive plenty of warmth and enjoy the long sunny days. There are over 50 species in my family. We’re cultivated across the world from South Africa to Europe. You’ll find my spiral-like buds enjoying the sunshine but unlike other tropical houseplants I don’t need regular watering or high levels of humidity. The only thing you’ll need to do is put the watering can down and let me dry out between waterings.
I’m ideal for an office space as you’ll barely have to water me. My beautiful vines will continue growing with enthusiasm in a sunny spot.
Small Height (including nursery pot) 25cm; pot diameter 14cm.

THINGS WE ALWAYS GET ASKED
Do succulents like full sun?
Yes, you can place Seddie in direct sunlight without worrying about his foliage burning. Ideally he would be able to enjoy 4-6 hours of direct sunlight every day but he can tolerate less natural light especially in the winter months. Take a look at Sasha, Percy and Carlos who can also take full sun.
How do you care for an indoor sedum?
Seddie is a low-maintenance succulent who’s a plan to please. The most important requirement for Seddie is bright sunlight and warm conditions. In the summer months he can even be placed outside to enjoy the longer hours of sunshine. In the winter, he doesn’t need much water and will only require a drink every couple of months or whenever the first few centimetres of his soil feel dry to touch. In the summer months when he gets lots of sunshine, he will need watering once every couple of weeks as long as you make sure his soil is a little dry before watering him again.
How often do you water a succulent?
This will depend on two things:
- How much light the succulent is getting
- Whether it is Winter or Summer.
In the summer and if the plant is receiving over 2-3 hours of direct sunlight a day he will need watering once every 2-3 weeks.
In the winter months when there is less natural light he might only need a drink once every 2-3 months. If any black or browning leaves appear this is a common sign that he has been overwatered.
