CUTTING CARBON

DPD; UK'S MOST SUSTAINABLE DELIVERY COMPANY

The delivery industry has an important role to play when it comes to the environment. At Pointless Plants, we picked DPD because of their commitment to be as environmentally conscious as possible. They’re the UK’s leading green delivery company who are confident they can contribute to a more sustainable and greener planet. We want to work with companies that share our same goal in making the world a greener and happier place. In the last few years DPD has set out their ‘green, clean delivery’ plan to be as environmentally conscious as possible. They have rolled many different plans that involve over 700 electric cars, a waste management program and 100% recyclable packaging made from 80% reclaimed material.

It isn't just delivery we are working on. We use green energy to power our warehouse. We make our own packaging by using our neighbours spare cardboard to reduce our carbon impact throughout the whole supply chain. Did you know, we prefer to buy plants from green growers as well who use geothermal energy to power their greenhouses!

WHATS THE PLANT TO HELP THE PLANET?

DPD have set out a plan to reduce their carbon footprint by 30% by 2025 and eliminate their carbon emissions within the next 20 years. At the moment DPD currently has 700 electric vehicles operating over the UK and aims to incorporate another 7,700 by the end of 2025.

Like many of us, DPD hates waste and has eliminated single use plastics by making sure 100% of their packaging can be recycled easily from home so it avoids ending up in landfill. Approximately 27 million tons of plastic is added to our landfills every year worldwide. Pointless Plants is supporting DPD’s mission to help reduce, reuse and recycle without any packaging ending up at our ever growing landfills.
