BLACK CORAL SNAKE PLANT CARE GUIDE
LIGHTING 
Sammy is tolerant to all types of lighting. Snake plants are famously known to tolerate low lighting making her a good winter plant. Sammy can also tolerate brighter light that will help her grow faster.
WATERING 
Sammy doesn’t need much water to thrive. In the summer give her a good drink once a month and in the winter every 6 weeks. Sammy likes her soil to completely dry out before her next watering. She won’t like her roots sitting in any excess water so proper drainage is very important. If Sammy is in a sunnier spot she will need watering more often.
HUMIDITY 
Sammy is happy in normal indoor humidity levels. She won’t make a fuss in dry spaces like other tropical plants.
TEMPERATURE 
The perfect indoor temperature for Sammy is between 21-28°C. As long as the indoor temperature doesn't dip lower than 20°C Sammy will be happy.
FERTILISER 
Fertilise Sammy every 4 weeks in the months through March-September. Do not fertilise in the winter.
REPOTTING 
Sammy is a slower grower and can spend many years in her original pot. She will need repotting around 2-3 years after you get her. She doesn’t like wet soil so make sure when you repot there is lots of drainage materials mixed in with the soil.
TROUBLESHOOTING YOUR SNAKE PLANT
Yellow leaves/brown spots - These are both signs of overwatering,
make sure Sammy’s soil completely dries out before watering again.
Drooping leaves - The drooping leaves are a sign that Sammy is ready for a drink. If her leaves feel soft to touch this is a sign she is under watered.
Pale leaves - Lack of sunlight can also cause her leaves to pale.
Place Sammy in a brighter spot.

Top tip 1: She absorbs a lot of light through her leaves. Give her leaves a weekly clean to remove any dust.
Top tip 2: Sammy is one of the best air purifying plants announced by Nasa. Place her in your bedroom for cleaner air while you sleep.
Top tip 3: Sammy is very prone to root rot if overwatered. Keep her soil slightly on the drier side to prevent any excessively wet soil.
